Shin Yang Shipping launches new express service from Thailand to Malaysia
Shin Yang Shipping Sdn Bhd (SYS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Shin Yang Shipping Corporation Berhad, the major listed company of Bursa Malaysia Securities, has launched new service, called “East Malaysia Express (EME)” to connect Thailand and East Malaysia.
East Malaysia Express (EME) will be the first shipping line to offer direct service from Bangkok, Unithai Container Terminal (UTCT) to the ports in East Malaysia. It will be berthed at Unithai Container Terminal on weekly basis before departure to Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Sandakan, Tawau in East Malaysia and Muara Port in Brunei.
Unithai Container Terminal (UTCT) recently welcomed MV. Danum 156 of Shin Yang Shipping on her maiden called at UTCT for the first operation.
Shin Yang Shipping, representing by Sea Container Maritime Co Ltd. (SCM) in Thailand. In addition to East Malaysia Express (EME), Shin Yang Shipping has also provided service for Shipper’s Own Container (SOC) both dry and reefer container to port Klang.
Unithai Container Terminal is the only purpose-built private container terminal with advance handling equipment along the Choa Phraya River. The terminal was developed over a decade to serve Thailand’s growing containerised cargo and help alleviate traffic congestion in central Bangkok.
