On November 20, 2024 United Thai Shipping Co., Ltd., or Unithai Container Terminal, received of a New Ship-To-Shore Crane from HuaDong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (HDHM) is a well-known company in the port machinery industry, specializing in producing various types of cranes such as ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, rail-mounted gantry (RMG) cranes, rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, general-purpose cranes, and quay cranes.
This New Ship-To-Shore Crane is larger and capable of handling container ships with a reach of 14 rows and can lift containers up to 5 tiers high. Additionally, it can handle a maximum container weight of up to 40 tons.
Currently, Unithai Container Terminal has completed the installation of the New Ship-To-Shore Crane and is in the process of testing its operational systems. It is expected to be fully operational by January 2025. The New Ship-To-Shore Crane is not only increasing the speed and precision of container handling but also significantly enhances the efficiency of vessel productivity, while being environmentally friendly.
This development marks an important step in upgrading the services of Unithai Container Terminal, helping to better meet customer needs
