Unithai Container Terminal led by Mr. Wasa Junsangsuk Deputy General Manager along with the Unithai Container Terminal team and employees from Unithai Group of companies participated in “Let’s plant mangrove together” including representatives of Unithai Container Terminal, United Thai Shipping Corporation Ltd. (Head Office), Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Ltd., and CUEL Ltd. Bangkok and Laem Chabang Branch, with over 40 participants. Prior to the mangrove planting, there was a training session to provide knowledge about mangroves, coastal ecosystem, and proper mangrove planting techniques. Then volunteers of Unithai colleagues planted mangroves along the coastline. This mangrove planting aims not only to establish a mangrove line to prevent direct wave erosion, reducing wave impact on the coastline, but also to provide a nursery habitat for young marine life, helping them grow and thrive before venturing out into the sea. Additionally, it contributes to sustainable livelihoods for communities in the surrounding areas. Most importantly, mangrove forest planting help the world by absorbing and storing significant amounts of coastal blue carbon which is essential to mitigate climate change.
