On July 27, 2024, representatives of the management and employees from Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Ltd., Songkhla branch, participated in a blood donation activity held at Tesco Lotus, Songkhla branch. This activity was organized by the National Blood Service Region 12, Songkhla, Thai Red Cross Society.
Each blood donation can potentially save more than 3 lives and be produced into numerous blood products to effectively treat various diseases such as:
Platelets: Used to treat patients with low platelet counts, bleeding disorders, and leukemia.
Red Blood Cells: Used to treat patients with anemia, thalassemia, bone marrow failure, and patients who have lost blood from heart surgery, accidents, or childbirth.
Plasma: Used to treat patients who are in shock due to dehydration, to produce a serum to prevent Hepatitis B virus and rabies be produced into three types of blood products: Factor VIII for treating Hemophilia A, Immunoglobulin (IVIG) for treating autoimmune diseases, and Albumin for treating burns, scalds, and liver diseases.
