On Tuesday, December 3, 2024: Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Limited and CUEL Limited held a ceremony to award scholarships under the Sustainable Scholarship Program 2024. The program aims to expand educational opportunities for youth living near their facilities, covering a total of 11 communities. Each community receives one scholarship worth 20,000 baht, totaling 11 scholarships and 220,000 baht per year.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Santi Siritanyong, Deputy Mayor of Laem Chabang City Municipality.
Mr. Viboon Kanque, General Manager of Operations, CUEL Limited, Mr. Apichet Boonpuan, Operations Director, Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Limited and Ms. Karaked Haruanmitr, Human Resources Manager, CUEL Limited welcomed the attendees. Community leaders from the 11 communities (Ban Laem Chabang, Ban Thung, Ao Udom Market, Ban Ao Udom, Wat Manorom, Ban Na Kao, Ban Na Mai, Laem Thong Village, Ban Thung Krad, Ban Nong Manow, and Ban Bang Lamung), along with parents and students from the 11 families, were present.
The project’s objective aligns with the resolution set forth in the joint meeting between the community leaders and company executives since 2018, continuing into 2024 for the 7th year. The goal is to identify suitable candidates who meet the criteria to receive continuous scholarships until they complete their bachelor’s degree. This initiative aims to support, promote and enhance the quality of education for local youth, preparing them for future careers, enabling them to support their families, and becoming valuable contributors to the nation.
